What is CBN

CBN is a non-intoxicating part of the cannabis plant that is the result of THC aging. As it gets older, it becomes much less psychoactive, and much more sleep-inducing.

Let’s start by making it clear what CBN is not: 

  • CBN is not intoxicating and is not habit-forming
.

  • CBN is not a manufactured sedative like Ambien.

On the flip side, CBN is:

  • CBN is a natural substance that attaches to receptors in your brain that make you feel tired and relaxed, without negatively affecting your brain’s function.

  • CBN interacts with your body’s natural functions to cause natural sleep. It doesn’t force you to sleep like a pharmaceutical sedative, which makes you groggy. 

  • On CBN, your brain still functions (phew) but your body naturally resets, making you able to have the most restorative sleep possible.

Our Formulation

CBN is the output of a specialized extraction process that converts CBD to CBN. It’s pharmaceutical-grade, but as raw as the vegetables you grow in your garden. We combine that with hops, another naturally sleep-inducing plant, to make our formulation even more effective. Together, they’re not just more effective, but they have no negatives. Sandland products are completely non habit-forming, non-intoxicating (you won’t get high) and don’t leave you feeling groggy or “hungover.”

Why Hops?

Hops are plants that naturally have terpenes with sedative qualities. It’s hard to find terpenes that don’t have too strong of a smell or taste, and hops is one of them. We should also note that, contrary to some belief, hops are completely gluten-free.


Adding a bit of Melatonin

You’ve probably heard of Melatonin. It’s a hormone that’s produced in humans to control your natural body clock. During daylight hours, your body produces low amounts of Melatonin, and when it’s dark, your body produces higher amounts of Melatonin. This is because it has been proven to help control your body’s natural urge (and need) to sleep. Melatonin is a great signal to your body to sleep. But, it doesn’t necessarily make you fall asleep, make you sleep more deeply, or make you feel more rested. However (!!), combining small amounts of Melatonin with CBN does all of those things.

Peppermint as the Finishing Touch

Peppermint is naturally caffeine-free and has a menthol component that makes your muscles relax, while relieving stress and anxiety. You can’t have a great, restful sleep unless you’re relaxed – both your body, and your mind.

Why not CBD?

CBD brands claim CBD can cure just about everything, which just isn’t true. The reality is that CBD is only scientifically-proven to treat inflammation, chronic plain, anxiety and seizures. Not sleep. However, because there are trace amounts of CBN in every drop of CBD, manufacturers claim that CBD helps you sleep. We leave the CBD aside, and focus on the CBN, which is the part that actually helps you sleep.
